Trojano is said to be a favorite fig of Naples where it is grown extensively. Some say it is one of the best tasting Italian figs. Trojano is juicy and sweet. It also seems to have hints of spices such as cardamom as well as a raspberry flavor.
Trojano figs have a yellowish skin with an amber pink or rose inside and as the trees matured the inside gradually became redder. We start getting ripe Trojano figs from mid to late July. Trojano is a large and very productive fig for us.
A two-toned variety with deliciousness in both productions and even though their fruit is completely different (1st round, 2nd long with a neck).
