It is one of the noblest red Greek varieties with a center of cultivation in the wider area of Nemea. Moderately vigorous to vigorous variety, robust, late maturing and productive. In old vineyards it forms a cup with 3-5 arms and receives short pruning. In new vineyards it is formed into bilateral Royat with 6-8 productive units and pruning short or last into unilateral or bilateral Guyot. It gives high quality wine products, in hilly areas with an altitude of more than 300 meters, in gravelly, medium texture and fertile soils.
