Moringa oleifera. The Tree of Life.
Its flowers smell like honey. In a pot or container, it can reach 1-3 m in height, but can be pruned if necessary.
They are drought-resistant, have extremely deep roots and can grow in a wide variety of soils, meaning they thrive in even the harshest conditions.
Moringa trees grow extremely quickly: in fact, once planted, they mature in just 9 months. Moringa leaves can be harvested just 6-8 weeks after planting, and then, once harvested, they sprout immediately, so 6-8 weeks later they can be harvested again.
Moringa trees are also perennial, so a single plant can be harvested year after year. They provide a source of income for communities that grow them year-round and help reverse deforestation problems.
