Product description

O'Neal is a very early-ripening, June, low-chill, large-bush blackberry. It is also a self-fertilizing variety. Developed in North Carolina, O'Neal is an excellent plant for the Southeast and Gulf states. O'Neal has large berries that are sweet and firm and are picked clean from the bush. Yields of 6-10 kg of high quality fruit can be produced on mature plants. O'Neal grows 4-6′ tall with strong stems and attractive foliage and has an upright spreading habit. O'Neal has done well growing on our farm here in Indiana (zone 5b), although I use frost when it blooms in freezing weather. It has produced reliable crops for us most years in our zone and will do well with minimal spring protection in zones 5b-6 (it is winter hardy in those zones as well). For zones 7 and warmer, no protection is required and O'Neal will perform very well.
Hardy in USDA zones 7-9.
