Red variety of French origin, quite common throughout Greece. It is a lively variety, moderately productive with good affinity to all the substrates used. Prefers soils of medium texture, deep, with some altitude. It forms a bilateral Royat line and is strictly pruned in both eyes. It is very sensitive to powdery mildew and downy mildew. It needs irrigation during the vegetative cycle for the purpose of the quality of its production.
It shows anthorrhoea and imbalance due to excessive vigor of the plant or due to rains during flowering. It ripens at the end of August and gives us high quality wines with good acidity, rich in color, full of body and remarkable aromatic potential.
