Red Fingerlime (Microcitrus australasica) is one of the highest quality citrus fruits from Australia.
It is also called 'Caviar Lime' or 'Plant Caviar' because of the vesicles that can be found inside.
- Characteristics of the tree: It is a very hard and spherical plant. Thorns are many, it is impenetrable.
-Leaves: The leaves are small and dark green, sometimes heart-shaped.
-Taste: Its taste is amazing. It's as sour as a lime. By pressing it, you can see these little vesicles go off.
Then when you taste it, they explode in your mouth like caviar.
-Color: The red digital skin is red to dark brown depending on the climatic conditions.
The pulp is usually deep-pink to red.
TIME OF MATURITY ESS
It begins to ripen from about September to the end of October.
It usually blooms in spring. Sometimes flowers can be found at other times of the year.
HOW TO USE IT
- IN THE KITCHEN: It is especially used in fine cuisine, because they are wonderful combinations.
Amazing with raw fish, oysters or meat. Also great with vegetables and.. with champagne!
-Decorative: Looks great, for its spherical shape and dark color.
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can withstand a temperature of -6°C.
