A white variety of French origin that is widely cultivated throughout Greece. It is a lively variety, with moderate production per plant. It shows good affinity to most used substrates. Formed into a linear Royat and short pruning or an unmolested Gyot. It prefers deep, medium-textured soils with the presence of calcium carbonate and in late-season areas. This is because there is a great risk of overripening and oxidation. It needs irrigation during its ripening period while it can present anthorhic problems due to the excessive vigor of the plant.
It is a variety sensitive to powdery mildew and botrytis. It ripens at the end of August and gives us high quality wines, with good acidity and a rich aromatic character.
