Product description

It is called Solanum betaceum or tamarillo and belongs to the Solanaceae family. Origin from Bolivia and Argentina. It can grow in the Mediterranean. Cyphomandra betacea HEIGHT: up to 4 meters.

  • FRUIT: egg-shaped and 4-10 cm long.
  • TASTE: the skin has a bitter taste, but the flesh is sweet.
  • LIFETIME: 12 years
  • LEAVES: large and strongly scented.
  • NUTRITIONAL VALUE: rich in vitamin C and magnesium.
  • ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: 15 - 20 °C. It does not withstand temperatures below -2 °C and droughts. pH values ​​from 5 to 8.5.
  • PLANTING DISTANCES: 1-1.5 meters between plants and 4.5-5 meters between rows. In poorly drained soils, plants should be planted in ridges.
