Product description
It is called Solanum betaceum or tamarillo and belongs to the Solanaceae family. Origin from Bolivia and Argentina. It can grow in the Mediterranean. Cyphomandra betacea HEIGHT: up to 4 meters.

- LEAVES: large and strongly scented.
- NUTRITIONAL VALUE: rich in vitamin C and magnesium.
- ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: 15 - 20 °C. It does not withstand temperatures below -2 °C and droughts. pH values from 5 to 8.5.
- PLANTING DISTANCES: 1-1.5 meters between plants and 4.5-5 meters between rows. In poorly drained soils, plants should be planted in ridges.
- USES: juice, jam, chutneys, curries, sauces and flavorings for ice cream. The fruits are also edible raw but when unripe they are slightly toxic
