Early variety with harvest beginning at the end of October. Its fruits are oval in shape and when fully ripe acquire a deeper red color than all other oranges which makes them more attractive than the fruits of other early oranges. Navelina has a slight tendency to self-fertilization and in the years when we have increased fruiting, its fruits become smaller than those of the Merlin variety, which is a disadvantage, while in the years when production is reduced, the fruits become very large and coarse-skinned.
They stand out for their very sweet taste and strong aroma. They are very rich in vitamin C, they also contain sugars, potassium, calcium, phosphorus and vitamin A. The variety of Navalina oranges, got their name from the protrusion they have at the bottom, where a small fruit is contained in an embryonic state. They have thick skin and sweet juicy flesh. Their skin becomes an excellent dessert of the spoon.
