Product description

This type II variety was derived from a cross between 'Success' and 'Mahan'. The cross was made in 1946 by L.D. Romberg, US Pecan Field Station, Brownwood, Texas. Named and released in 1959. "Choctaw" is a close relative and pollinator of "Mohawk".

The Choctaw Pecan (Carya illinoinensis) is distinguished by its large, round nuts and vigorous growth. This tree is not only a source of delicious pecans but also a visual treat with its huge canopy. Its adaptability to different soil types makes it a versatile choice for orchards.
