Product description

Morus macroura , also known as King White Mulberry, Shahtoot Mulberry, Thibetan Mulberry, Finger Mulberry or Long Mulberry is native to Tibet, the Himalayas, the highlands of Indonesia and the rainforests of Indochina. It is a medium-sized tree, with a spreading crown hanging like a willow. The ripe fruit is white.

Pakistani King White mulberries are about 6-10 cm long and are virtually seedless. Young berries start out dark green and gradually lighten to a pale white and are almost translucent when ready to harvest. Royal King White mulberries can be eaten when they are still pale green, although the sugars have not yet developed to their sweetest flavor potential. Once fully ripe the taste is very sweet, with notes of honey. Royal mulberries have a 30% sugar content and are much sweeter than black mulberries.

CAUTION: All parts of the plant except the ripe fruit contain a toxic milky sap. Eating a lot of berries can have a laxative effect. We expect them to ripen better.
