Diocese plant with Latin name gynostemma pentaphyllum. used for high cholesterol, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and improving heart function. It is also used to strengthen the immune system, increase stamina and energy, increase in environmental stress (as an "adapter"), improve memory and prevent hair loss.

Believe it or not, this plant belongs to the cucumber family, although it doesn't look or taste anything like a cucumber. On the other hand, the leaves have similar properties to ginseng, but can be grown indoors, while ginseng cannot.

 Traditionally, this herb was mixed with black tea leaves to give them a better flavor, but now, it is known as a tonic or adaptogenic herb. People drink plain jiaogulan tea instead of blending it, but you can still blend it if you want!

Jiaogulan grows well in USDA hardiness zones 8-10. not a fan of low temperatures. In these climates, you can grow it as a perennial. If you live in a colder climate, you can grow it as a fast-growing herb as an annual or as an indoor perennial.
