Prunus Kanzan is a deciduous tree with a wide crown and ascending shoots. Its leaves are copper-green, with cherry-like veins. It blooms in spring, before the leaves form, with large, double flowers in clusters that are bright pink at first and pale pink later, resembling carnations. Hardy species, with minimal soil requirements, but prefers light and well-drained soils.
